MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION

Any woman over eighteen years of age, of good character, and who is descended from an ancestor who rendered civil, military or naval service to our country during the years of 1784 to 1815 inclusive, shall be eligible to membership, provided that the applicant shall be acceptable to the society and shall take oath of allegiance to the United States of America.

Children up to the age of twenty-two years may join this Society and shall be known as “Juniors” of the National Society of the United States Daughters of 1812 in the State of Michigan.  They shall be governed by the rules that govern the other members, except that they shall not have the privilege of holding office, nor the right to vote in any other than their own junior society.  Young women 18 to 22 registered, as “Juniors” may become members of the National Society United States Daughters of 1812 in the State of Michigan upon request and payment of dues.  Young men at the age of 22 may be referred to the General Society of War of 1812.
